Have you ever had moments in time where you felt like you were just dismissed or ignored?
One time, I was interviewing a financial analyst as a candidate who looked perfect on paper. He had great qualifications, highly educated, knew the software…everything a person could of asked for in a financial analyst.
However, as we were doing the interview, he said to me.
“I don’t want to talk to you, you’re just the HR girl. Can I speak to your manager or something?”
And it wasn’t the only instance…
- A high level financial executive (who was a woman) was interviewing a candidate and he was treating her like the secretary. That is, until she closed the door of her office and sat behind her desk. Boy, did his attitude and demeanor change quickly…
- A colleague in HR with five years of experience was told her manager that she didn’t know what she was talking about and she should be quiet since she was just the HR girl. (Turns out even HR girls can read labor codes)
And from there, Just the HR Girl was born…
Just the HR Girl is a blog dedicated to laughing at these situations and bringing you the most up-to-date information in HR, because what else can you do but laugh and learn?
